Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising: Develops and implements fundraising strategies to help support the financial needs of various charitable agencies. This includes planning annual campaigns, special events, and ongoing annual donation programs.
Event Planning and Execution: Organizes a variety of fundraising events such as golf tournaments, hockey tournaments, charity dinners, merchandise campaigns, and community outreach/engagement activities.
Community Engagement: Builds and maintains strong relationships with local businesses, community organizations, and residents to foster support for the VPFFA’s fundraising efforts.
Promotion and Marketing: Develops promotional materials and marketing campaigns to publicize fundraising events and initiatives. Utilizes various media channels, including social media, to reach a wide audience and encourage participation.
Financial Management: Works closely with the association’s treasurer to ensure that all funds raised are properly accounted for and allocated according to the committee’s goals. Maintains transparency and accountability in all financial dealings.
Benefits to the VPFFA and Community:
Financial Support: Generates the necessary funds to support the VPFFA’s benevolent activities and community service initiatives.
Member Engagement: Actively involves members in meaningful activities and initiatives that support the greater community.
Community Impact: Enhances the association’s ability to contribute positively to the local Vaughan community, demonstrating the VPFFA’s commitment to public service both on and off the job.
The Benevolent Fund plays a crucial role in sustaining the VPFFA’s charitable efforts by ensuring that the association can continue to support and serve the community effectively.
Key Fundraising Accomplishments:
- Completed a $100,000.00 pledge to the Mackenzie Health Foundation and Vaughan’s first hospital.
- Partnered with the Peer Support Team to make our first donation of $9,600.00 to Wounded Warriors Canada.
- Annually donates over $7,000.00 to various Cancer Awareness campaigns.
- Raised $40,000 for the Vaughan Foodbank through the launch of a three-part fundraising series.
- Participated in the Annual York Region Pride Parade for the third consecutive year.
